Canva has announced a suite of new features and tools that include several AI-powered functionalities and a new Brand Hub. The company unveiled these updates during its Canva Create virtual event. Among the new AI-powered tools is “Assistant,” which helps users search for design elements and provides quick access to features, as well as recommendations on graphics and styles that match your existing design. Canva’s Magic Write tool, an AI-powered copywriting assistant, will now be available in all project types and languages, providing quick and efficient copy suggestions.

The Magical Features

Canva’s new “Magic Design” tool allows users to upload an image and then select a style to receive a curated selection of personalized templates that can be customized. Additionally, the “Magic Edit” feature allows users to add or replace anything in an image by identifying where they want to add something and then describing it to the tool. Another new feature is the “Magic Eraser,” which lets users clean up unwanted details in images by brushing over the area. “Beat Sync” automatically matches video footage to a soundtrack of your choice, while the new “Translate” feature automatically translates text in designs to over 100 different languages.

Beyond Magic: Latest Tools and Features for Effortless Design

Canva also introduced a range of other features, such as “Draw,” which lets users sketch simple shapes and have them transform into polished designs, and “Layouts,” which provides recommendations for layout ideas for a design. “Styles” offers suggested color palettes and fonts, while the new “Layers” tool allows users to see all elements in one place, including text, shapes, images, and video. Canva now also supports Alt Text, which allows users to provide extra context to their images and elements to describe them for those with visual impairment or accessibility needs.

Staying on your Brand: New Tools and Features for Effortless Branding

The new Brand Hub is a range of tools and features designed to help teams stay on brand. It includes a “Magic Replace” tool that allows users to quickly update brand assets, such as logos, across their designs on the platform. Admins can also approve workflows directly in Canva to ensure that designs are reviewed and approved before they’re published.

Canva has grown to more than 120 million monthly users since its launch in 2013, with more than 15 billion designs created using the platform. Canva’s new features and tools are aimed at making the design process even easier for everyone, regardless of their skill level or experiences
